Grade Two Homework Policy       

 

The primary purpose of homework at the second grade level is to reinforce, supplement, and enrich the concepts and skills being taught in the classroom, as well as instill responsibility.  Parent involvement is encouraged and expected as a means of strengthening the necessary partnership between home and school

Parents are asked to do the following:

1.   Set aside a quiet place at home in order to establish the proper environment conducive to study.

2.   Determine a consistent and reasonable time for your child to participate in any homework activity.

3.   Check to see that your child has completed the assignment always offering encouragement and help when needed.

*Homework activities may require twenty minutes to complete with an additional fifteen minutes of independent reading each night. Parents are asked to sign and return reading logs daily.
